Former Financial Aid Guru becomes License Plate Artist…
After a successful career in higher education as a Financial Aid administrator and adjunct faculty member, I decided that it was time to follow my dream to start my own business – Lakeside Rustics, LLC.
Our workshop overlooks Ossipee Lake in the scenic Lakes Region of New Hampshire. It is easy to find inspiration when surrounded by such beauty each day and we love to incorporate reclaimed barn wood, white birch bark, lake / river driftwood, and many other natural items from our local environment in the pieces we design.
I am also an avid license plate collector with literally thousands of license plates on display in my garage, workshop, and even in the living room! Because I have so many license plates around from my collecting, I often use license plates (or pieces of license plates) in my pieces.
With their recent popularity, license plate art pieces have become a large part of Lakeside Rustics’ sales. Custom orders are most of what we spend our time on these days, so please let us know if you have an idea you want us to bring to life!

Rachel is my lovely wife and a true “Lake Girl”. She has an excellent eye for design when she is not managing relationships for a major insurance company. Luckily she works from home a few days per week so she’s able to assist with colors and design.

Hazel is our 4-yr-old Boxer who likes to keep an eye on things around the shop (and pretty much anywhere else she might be at that particular moment).

Emma is our 3-yr-old Black Lab. Her focus is on making sure Dad takes regular breaks to play fetch with her on the beach out in front of our home.
